EXCELLENTTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I don’t write a lot of reviews (which, of course, makes this sound fake from the get go). However, one would be hard pressed to reach influencer status by announcing on the internet “we might have a problem with rodents!” although I was assured by Melissa at PSI that rats are very common in Victoria. And, having moved to a new house means new surprises, not all of them pleasant, and Melissa was the equivalent of calling a homeowner crisis line – calm, educated and gave me some tips right way. I told her we used to have live in pest control. He was handsome, wore a tux all the time, and liked having his belly scratched. That cat was the best ratter, and we didn’t realize he was doing all the work until he died and we discovered his sister cat has been seemingly riding on his coat tails this whole time! The nerve. Anyhow, since the rat problem was still outside, we decided to be proactive and make sure it stayed that way. And will probably send the sister cat to Remedial Ratting for Spoiled Suburban Princesses. Marlin was deployed to assess. He, too, was cool as a cucumber (what’s in the water cooler at PSI do you think?). Not only was he super informed about rat behaviours and patterns, he was strangely informed on most animal digestion systems which resulted in an interesting conversation about dog feces as rat attractants. Cause I like my day to roll with random info I can use when I am a future guest on Jeopardy (Marlin, I will give you half my winnings, I swear). I liked his professionalism, but also his humour and we bonded over our shared love of gardening. I am now on Team Out Smart Rat. If they touch my peppers, I will declare war! Seriously, his rat proofing gardening tips were fantastic, but you better like shoveling gravel if you are going 100% ratty proof. Anyway, no one writes long reviews but take it from me – see a rat? Called PSI to come and take a look at our attic. We had been hearing noises and a lot of the insulation had been ripped. We had had previous issues with rats and mice so we wanted to get someone to take a look. Our previous pest control guy hadn't been coming by as promised so we were overdo. Booked for 1pm today and Johnny Marshman showed up early (we've never had pest control company arrive on time, let alone early). He was very knowledgeable and pointed out a lot of things we could do on our own to limit issues with pests going forward. He also fixed up a hole rats had dug under our house and into the crawl space free of charge! We ended up buying some traps off him to do our own monitoring but we're also considering the monthly check-up. We had a sudden influx of ants in the house that purchased traps were not controlling. PSI was able to come out quickly, identify the entry point, thoroughly treat the problem inside and out and provided excellent follow up service. Mike was able to squeeze us into his schedule on the same day we called. We needed a wasp nest removed. In the process he explained a lot about wasp behaviour and ecology. Service was fast, no mess, courteous, and as a bonus, greeted my wife in her native Mandarin. Absolutely will use PSI next time.
